Preston is Walking
Preston can walk on his own. With no support of a wall or a loving hand, the Bubbs can do it all on his own. He can put together a walk of eight to fifteen steps. It started on Christmas eve and we have been working on it since then. It was the best Christmas present ever. J

Bubba
The new thing is walking around the house while holding my hands. We can do this for hours. It is his favorite. Preston will not walk if he is not holding and will go down to his knees and ask why why.j

rubbed feet
Bubba was mad today, woke from a nap in a very bad mood. Two and half hours later I was picking Holly up in Boston and driving home. At home Holly got Preston ready for bed to find his shoes were to small and were rubbing his feet. Sad I was to hear that. Will need to get Preston some shoe to fit. J

Preston is so great, easy, fun, it is so exciting to see him grow. I am so lucky to be able to stay home with him. We are entering a new phase of his growth were it is going to be more challenging for me. He is starting to interact with other kid and my challenge is where to step in as a parent and where do I just let it go. J

Da Bubba Walks
We went to Cleveland on Sunday and Preston walked. We were in our suite hanging out. Preston cruising on the coffee table wanting to move over to the couch. With one hand on the table and one out stretched to the couch, letting go he took two quick little steps to the couch. Thus is first few steps. I was amazed and stunned.

So Preston has become an expert crawler. On all four a demon on wheels. We had him crawl up and down the hallway the other day. A wonderful site and a new chapter.

Life in mine
My hair is doing great, I thank every one for their help.
I volunteered at a cyclocross race this weekend, not the first time at a race but the first one I was wowed by. Jonathan Page is a monster. His focus was inspiring and now I take this image with me, not just to my training which is at a snail crawl but to my everyday life and to my work. I thank Mr Page for this.
The first day bubba and I helped to set up the course. I was grand watching him roll around in the grass while I set the barriers for the course.
Dirt is not on his favorite list
More than that, time has passed, bubba is getting bigger, talking more, walking with help and too fast on all fours.
He is so fast he is going to share some of his secrets with me by putting them into a training plan so I can be as fast has he is with two legs tied together. That is how fast I'll be for next season.

Crawling
Preston is starting to crawl. Awsome!! He is like a ninja no a spider monkey. He is just fast. He was telling me the other day he wanted to do Lake Placid. He was saying Papa my fast is faster than your fast, my fast make your fast look like cottage cheese and that is the reason he wants to do LP.

Preston is becoming so interactive. He is also is playing now. Charlie got him this music board that talks and makes music. He is loving it. He will sit there and play with it and play. j

Helping our children live long lives
powerplant.jpg]" border="0">
I was very happy to move to Salem, great town by the water, young people migrating here in droves. The city of Salem has a lot going for it, even though some residents want to shut down live music but that is an other rant.
The one thing that really make me uncomfortable is our coal burning power plant. Coal is just bad for our health. It's in the air we breath, we are much more at risk for cancer living here (a 30 mile radius). The big thing about the plant it was planned to be shut down in 1982. It was only to be in service for 30 years, now 27 years later the plant is still burning. A couple of years ago 3 people lost their live in an explosion. Our Mayor has asked Gov. Devail Patrick to make Salem exempt from the new environmental standards because the plant is so old. The good thing about the plant is we get 4 million in taxes from the plant which helps out Salem, especially with the current economical crisis. It also employs 147 people.
So the hand which feeds also takes. Is money a fair trade for our health.
We are in a new age of energy.
The question now is what if.

Training
I just got back from a really nice 75 miler, wonderful rolling hills on a beautiful day.I found it is a lot harder to ride by yourself than with a group. What I like about it is training by myself I fell I will become a stronger rider. I hope so. Master Pnut is with mommy today. Peace j

CFO PBM Enterprise
It has been six months since I have become the CFO of PBM enterprise. It has been a very satisfying career switch indeed. We manufacture smiles and hugs here which we then distribute freely. The job has some over time which I am the first to ask for and our VPMP is also willing to get her hands dirty too. I feel we make a good team and I am very happy to have meet up with her. Now our CEO is a very busy man. Adheres to his schedule like a Swiss clock and does not mince words. He will tell you if he likes something or not and not afraid to use his voice either. He is laid back at times but in the office he is strictly business. On the flower phone or on his lady bug he stays till the job is done, make it happen he will often say, he is an insiration to me and makes me better myself on a daily baisis. I wish there where more people like him but who knows there might be.Thanks for stopping in. If you would like to learn more about Smile and Hugs there will be a Smile and Hugs conference coming to your area soon. J

ride in the mountains
Growing
Preston is getting bigger thus heavier. Good for strong arms. Finding the time to train has gotten harder, Its not easy to wake in the early hours of the morning. My days are filled with laughter, stinkies and office time with a little tummy time. Preston is amazing. It's great to see him smile with the two pearls popping out of his mouth. I watch him in his office screaming buy sell buy. What a power player. Flower phone in had sending emails on his laddy bug. Preston is very froward thinking on the market. Stay tune for talk from PBM.

a month in review
It has been a full month since I have switched to full time dad. What I can say about it is my son makes my job easy. He is great, awesome, laid back, full of expresstoins and loves to talk. I have just learned he needs to naps to make it through the day. If I do not put him down he is willing to stay up and hang out, thus creates a melt down for mommy. I feel very luck to be able to stay home with my son.
So I have parent group on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00, story hour on Wednesday at 10:00, I but the wine at 62 on warf on Tuesday at 1:00. At 9:00 Monday through Thursday I have a conference call which Preston, Lucy and I go on a walk before and we try to make a second walk sometime in the afternoon. We take mommy to the train any where between 7:00 and 8:00. we go to the gym two or three times a week to get daddy a workout. Nap time is just before 9:00 and nap two is around three. We pick up mommy at the train at 5:00 or 5:25. Preston has three feeding 9:00 ish 1:00 ish and 4:00 ish which take about half hour each. Six to eight diapers through out the day, sometimes I get to take a shower eat breakfast during my call and lunch come when I get some free time usually around 3:00. I talk to Holly about three time a day. Preston gets tummy time story time we are reading harry potter an other story time with children's books and music time which sometime intermingles with tummy time.
At 6:00 it's either a group ride till 7:00 or 8:00 or a run. Back home to cook diner, a little TV time and off to bed were I wake up at 5:00 or 6:00 for a work out sometimes, but we been sleeping the last couple of weeks. So my days keep me busy but the enjoyment of holding, feeding and just being with my son is just the world to me. It sound like a lot be we just spend the day laughing and having a good time, once in a while we will have a meltdown, but for the most part Preston is wonderful. I Love You Holly. Thank You

smiles, giggles, and happiness are for free
Today while I was chillin with Preston cooking some eggs and french toast. We were talking about buttery french toast and how yummy it is. Preston could not get enough of how french toast sounded. I kept on saying those fabled words buttery french toast. Giggle started to come out of his little mouth and the more french toast came, the more giggle appeared. Until Preston was engulfed in full laughter. It was a momment to see my son laughing out loud. The only reason he stopped because could figure out how to breath and laugh at the same time and in the process he gave himself the hic-ups. It was amazing to see him smile and laugh.

how funny
Last night while I was holding Preston, Holly started to clean up the living room. In this process she tried to give Preston his suckie but instead of giving it to him she tried to give it to me, I told her I'm not the one that really needs the suckie as she tries to put into my mouth. j

Racing
It has been a bit. Preston is growing and I am starting to lose my pouch. I have had consistent work outs for the last month and I feeling like I'm getting back into shape, not race shape but able to breathe again. My knee is holding up but with some discomfort, I feel the pain is due to not being seated properly on the bike. I have taken up a new sport, mountain biking. I'm building this bike myself. I wish I could buy from a shop I feel it is a noble thing to support local bike shops but the bike I need to race costs more than I have. Internet shopping is the way to go. So my Leader 516h frame is in the mail. I am quite excited about it, much so I have been staying up all hours of the night doing research on how to build and what to build it with. But what I am uberly excited about is the fact that PB is going to be brought up in the racing community. What a great atmosphere to be brought up into. Going to races, mountain biking, road races and triathlons. Watching his Papi race. People at these events are great, so positive. It will be good for PB to be brought up in a world like this. Some of my fondest memories have been at races. I hope he will enjoy it to, if not there is always ballet. j

I have just joined the nascar diaper changing pit crew.My time is down to 2.5 seconds.I'm also getting ready to get back on the bike, last time I was on it the trainer which put Preston right asleep. I think he liked the white noise and vibration. j

The Big Man Has Arrived
It has been a little longer than a week since Preston was born and sleep is seldom seen here at the Matulewicz residence, but it is worth it all and more to hold the big man. He is like a little heater when he lies on your chest sleeping, feeling each little breath go in and out. Holly and I are so blessed to have birthed such a child like Preston. I have a feeling Preston is going to be a big man, his birth weight was 10.2 and he was 22.5 in lenght. Figuring with a body like that he will play some contact sport.I am hoping he will play lacrosse or takes up swimming. Like all new Fathers you want your son to be the best he can be and there are times that is not the case because he is just not. If it happens I can accept it. The one thing Preston has going for him is he has pedigree. Coming from a family of runners and with each generation we become faster and faster (Preston will be the fourth). So now the torch has been passed down and what ever Preston chosses to do he will do it fast. j
Next we'll talk about how Preston will use his superoir intellect which he got from his mother to become the next head of state.

Hopefully it will land soon. j

In on the bike
Kinetic
A green piece of metal which I strap Bella to so I can spin for hours. Thus getting a work out in with out any frostbite. It has been great riding inside, Thanks to my wife Holly I have this piece of equipment to help me push to my athletic goals. I have been on it for the last couple of day only riding for 30 min. Would go longer but I have not gotten my saddle back and I am still having problems with my left knee. Will this ever go away. But for now It is great to have till I can get back on the roads.

PBM
Days in waiting, Preston is coming in the next few days, we are all so excited and when I say we I mean every one. People are coming out of the wood work to hear about Preston. I was surprised, but also warmed to know others are looking forward to meet our first.
